ABOUT:

Clear Pictures Entertainment Inc. is a for-profit film and television production company developing, producing, and financing premium narrative projects for domestic and international audiences. The company focuses on elevated, story-driven films with strong commercial positioning, international appeal, and long-term library value — balancing prestige filmmaking with disciplined market awareness.

Clear Pictures operates with a hybrid structure that supports both commercial production and mission-aligned cultural work. The company is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, allowing Clear Pictures to receive tax-deductible charitable support for its ongoing artistic, educational, and cultural activities. This includes development and research, writing fees, rights options, archival preservation, and other qualifying creative work. Commercial film production, financing, and distribution activities remain fully for-profit and independently operated.

Clear Pictures Entertainment develops and produces projects across a range of genres, including political thrillers, true crime, psychological thrillers, and prestige drama. While not genre-specific, the company’s work consistently centers complex, female-driven narratives — often focused on women navigating moral, political, or psychological pressure within high-stakes environments. This editorial throughline runs from Official Secrets and Devil's Knot to the female-led psychological thriller Blackwater Lane, and continues across the company’s development slate.

Founded by producer Elizabeth Fowler, Clear Pictures has built a track record spanning major international festivals, top-tier talent collaborations, and strong global distribution performance.

Elizabeth Fowler began her career as a talent agent and manager at ICM, working with A-list actors, directors, and writers before transitioning into producing. She launched her producing career by optioning the nonfiction book Devil’s Knot and developing it into the feature film Devil's Knot, directed by Academy Award winner Atom Egoyan and starring Academy Award winners Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, and was subsequently selected for the Cannes Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, and San Sebastián International Film Festival, among other international festivals.

Her next feature, Official Secrets, was directed by Academy Award winner Gavin Hood and starred Academy Award nominees Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, and has since reached wide international audiences.

Most recently, Fowler wrote and produced Blackwater Lane, based on the novel The Breakdown by B. A. Paris, starring Minka Kelly, Maggie Grace, and Dermot Mulroney. The film was released theatrically and digitally by Lionsgate Films and has charted in over 40 countries, including sustained Top 10 placements across more than 25 international territories.

Clear Pictures Entertainment continues to develop an ambitious slate of director-driven projects designed to travel internationally — combining artistic credibility, audience reach, and commercial durability.

Charitable contributions to Clear Pictures Entertainment Inc. are made through its 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor.
